This photo postcard was never mailed and has only a few illegible German words on the back. My guess is that they are dressed in costume for a music hall entertainment from 1910-1914, though not necessarily for the new year. Whether they were from Germany or Austria, I'm sure they would be happy to entertain us one hundred years on.

I wonder how the guy with the 2 dolls got stuck with that.

What a fun photo & I love the way you always take them 'apart' at first & then give us the whole thing put together at the end. Happy New Year to you, too!

It is the quality of the photograph that strikes me. Wonderful - full of expression, perfect focus, perfect composition.

A perfect fit for both the prompt and the New Year. I wonder what the story was behind those dolls. Are they perhaps hiding their holder's musical instrument?

The postman delivering twins!??

All the best for the New Year!

A perfect match for the prompt, though more posed than spontaneous. There’s an element of the grotesque as well, with lots of unanswered questions. Those fingers are spookily long and whatever is the book which is being pointed at?As for the dolls....
